■ I really can't stomach the new blue blood in our department.
  난 우리 부서의 그 새로운 귀족 놈이 너무 싫어

A : I really can't stomach the new blue blood in our department.
B : You mean the CEO's nephew?
A : Yeah, I don't know why they hired him. He doesn't know shit about anything!
B : I guess blood is thicker than water.

A : 난 우리 부서의 그 새로운 귀족 놈이 너무 싫어
B : 너 대표님 조카를 말하는 거니?
A : 맞아, 난 그들이 왜 그를 고용했는지 이해가 안가. 그는 할 줄 아는 것이 하나도 없어.
B : 피가 물보다 진하기 때문인 것 같아.

▶ can't stomach (someone or something) 직역하면 소화시킬 수가 없다. 어떤 일을 소화할 수 없다는 이야기는 받아들이기 힘들다는 표현이겠지요. 즉, ’참고 견딜 수가 없다’ 비슷한 표현으로는 can’t bear이 있습니다.
to dislike someone or something very much. This expression dates from the late 1600s and today is less common than similar expressions such as `can't stand' or `can't bear'.

▶ blue blood '귀족'이라는 뜻입니다. 이 표현은 스페인어 Sangre Azul에서 유래한 말로 피부색이 어두운 Moor인들과는 다른 스페인 귀족들의 햇볕에 그을지 않은 하얀 속살은 파란 정맥이 아주 쉽게 보였기 때문에 쓰여진 표현입니다.

The origin of this term comes from the Spanish phrase “Sangre Azul” (literally “blue blood”), used to describe the fact that when the Spanish were conquering lands held by the Moors, the Spanish nobility displayed the fact that they had white, untanned skin, through which blue veins were easily seen, as proof that they were not related to the darker skinned Moors.

▶ blood is thicker than water 말 그대로 피는 물보다 진하다. 즉, '가족간의 유대관계(혈연관계)가 다른 사람과의 관계가 훨씬 강하다'라는 뜻입니다.
used to imply that family ties are always more important than the ties you make among friends or strangers.
