A : John이 너가 어제 회의에서 무척 당황 했다고 모두에게 소문을 내고 있어.
B : 뭐라고? 난 절대 그러지 않았어. 내가 그를 죽여버려야 겠어.
A : 조급해 하지마. 생각없이 저지르지마. 넌 네가 행동하기 전에 늘 생각을 먼저 해야해!
B : 이게 끝이 아니야. (나중에 내가 꼭 따질거야.)

▶ like a deer caught in the headlights ‘너무 놀라서 움직이지 못하다’ 이 표현은 사슴이 밤에 길을 건너다가 차의 headlight 에서 나오는 불빛에 너무나 당황해서 차길 밖으로 나가지 못하고 그 자리에 멈춰서 있는 모습에서 유래 했습니다.
to be so frightened or surprised that you cannot move or think. The phrase refers to the behavior of deer caught in the beams of car headlights at night, when they frequently simply freeze for several seconds rather than running safely out of the car’s path.

▶ in a pig's eye 직역하면 ‘돼지 눈에야 그렇게 보이지’라는 표현이지만, 본래의 의미는 ‘결코 그렇지 않은’이라는 뜻입니다. 여기서 eye는 lie와 rhyme이 같으며 pig는 불쾌함의 함축적 의미입니다. 그래서 그 두 표현을 함께 쓰면 무언가를 부정하거나 거절할 때 쓰이는 것이지요.
Untrue. “Eye” is a rhyme for “lie.” “Pig” has an unpleasant connotation. Put them together, and you have an expression meaning completely untrue or has little chance of happening.

▶ hold one's horses ‘조급해지는 마음을 억제하다’ 라는 표현인데요, 말이 얼마나 빨리 달리는지, 얼마나 힘이 센지를 생각해 보면 이 표현이 더 잘 이해가 되실 것입니다.
Hold on; be patient. The phrase is historically related to horse riding, or driving a horse-drawn vehicle.

▶ Go off hog wild ‘go off’는 ‘떠나다/나가다’ 그리고 ‘hog wild’는 행동을 거칠게 하다라는 뜻입니다. 그래서 ‘흥분을 가라 앉히다’라는 표현이지요. 
`Go off' means to leave and `hog wild' means to behave wildly.
