  아무리 정교한 계획을 만들었다 해도 John 이 했던 것을 예상 할 수 없었어.

B : I thought he was chomping at the bit to give the presentation.
A : He was. But that's the problem. He was like a bull in a china shop.
B : Well you knew that finesse was not his strong suit..

A : 아무리 정교한 계획을 만들었다 해도 John 이 했던 것을 예상 할 수 없었어. 
B : 나는 그 친구가 발표하고 싶어서 안달이 났다고 생각했어.
A : 그가 안달났던 것은 사실이지. 하지만 그게 문제야. 그가 엉망진창 이었자나.
B : 너도 알다시피 능수능란함이 그의 장점이 아니자나.

The most carefully prepared plans may go wrong. The saying is adapted from a line in a poem from the 18th century.  

▶ champ/chomp at the bit ‘뭔가를 하고 싶어서 안달이 나다.’ 여기서 bit은 입에 물리는 ‘재갈’이구요, chom은 ‘우걱우걱 씹다’ 라는 뜻입니다. 경주 할 때 경주용 말을 컨트롤 하기 위해서 말 입에 금속 조각을 넣습니다. 경주용 말은 경주전에 아주 초초해지면 재갈을 씹듯이 어떤일에 대해서 뭔가를 하고 싶어서 초조해질 때 사용하는 말입니다.
to be ready and anxious to do something. A bit is a piece of metal put into a horse's mouth for control of the horse. When a race horse is eager to run it often nervously chomps at the bit.

▶ a bull in a china shop ‘망나니, 거칠게 구는 사람’ 말과 행동이 막된 사람을 말합니다. 여기서 china shop은 중국가게가 아니라 도가기 가게라는 뜻입니다. 도자기 가게에 성질이 사나운 황소가 와서 날뛰게 되면 그거처럼 골치 아픈일은 없겠지요?
a tactless person who upsets others or upsets plans, a very clumsy person
