B : Yeah, now he's being hounded to reveal his sources.

A : 난 정부 과학자들에 의해서 인간 실험쥐가 되고 있는 사람들이 불쌍해.
B : 나도 그래. 그 비밀을 누설한 기자는 어떻고!
A : 다들 그러더라. 그 기자가 확실히 잘 아는 사람한테 정보를 받았다고.
B : 그래서 그 기자는 그 정보원을 밝히라고 괴롭힘을 당하고 있자나.

▶ a guinea pig 기니피그 17세기부터 인간대신에 생체 실험으로 사용되는 동물입니다. 이 동물은 자주 19세기와 20세기의 모델 생물로 쓰여졌으며. 요즘은 다른 설치류, 즉 mice나 rat으로 대체되어져 왔습니다.

▶ Let the cat out of the bag 직역하면 고양이를 가방에서 꺼내는 건데요, 이 표현은 영국 시장에서 한 장사꾼이 살찐 고양이를 자루에 넣고 돼지라고 속여서 팔려고 하는 찰나에 그만 고양이가 자루에서 튀어나와서 거짓말이 들킨 사건에서 유래했다고 합니다. 그래서 ‘무심코 비밀을 누설하다’
This expression goes back to the 1500's when merchants would sell customers live piglets and, would sometimes swap the pig for a cat when the customer looked away. The buyer wouldn’t discover they’d been cheated until they got home and literally let the cat out of the bag.

▶ straight from the horse's mouth ‘확실한 소식통/사람으로부터’라는 뜻인데요, 이 표현은 말은 입을 벌리고 이발의 상태를 봐야지만 정확한 나이를 식별할 수 있다는 것에서 유래된 표현입니다.
if you get information about something from the horse's mouth, you get it from someone who is involved in it and knows a lot about it

▶ hound (someone) 사냥감을 놓치지 않으려는 사냥개처럼 ‘따라다니면서 괴롭히다’라는 뜻입니다.
to harass persistently like a hunting dog chasing prey.
